In 2015, chef daniel shemtob noticed a significant problem in his field of work
His shoes kept falling apart and he would be in pain after being on his feet for long periods of time. In search for a robust new work shoe replacement, he soon noticed that many of the work shoes were either functional but ugly, or vise versa. Fed up after destroying pair after pair of shoes in the kitchen, Daniel felt that there had to be a better footwear solution for the workplace. Soon after realizing that there wasn't, he knew that something had to be created to fill that void. After approaching partners Dr. Snibbe and Haik Zadoyan, the Snibbs brand was born.
The Snibbs team wanted to build something truly special, something that could be called best-in-class. Working with various developers and designers, the team explored all possible construction options. In all cases, the best performing and most comfortable materials were used, regardless of higher cost. Why? Because the mission was to build the BEST work shoe, not just another one.
With years of design revisions, Daniel and Haik traveled overseas personally many times, where they visited their factories and material suppliers to ensure quality from the get-go. They also worked closely with Ortholite to develop the Snibbs insole concurrently. After three years, 35+ revisions of the shoe and 15+ of the insole, the perfect work shoe had arrived.
As far as features go, Snibbs have a pretty wide variety of them. They cover a range of different areas that all combine to create a really resistant shoe.
They use a special breathable material with hydrophobic properties. It can be easily wiped off and feels really interesting to the touch. The material itself has almost a foam feel, but is extremely resistant to pretty much anything we've seen so far (even with salt + winter snow)
The rubber sole is marked by the Brungraber Mark II Test to ensure that it provides the highest level of slip resistance. In practical use we had no issues even when the floor was wet.
While we didn't get into any extreme fluids such as oils or grease, in typical hospital fluids they did fine.
Snibbs partnered with Ortholite to create a double molded multilayer insole. This insole helps with step-in feeling along with supporting your foot against fatigue and pain.
These insoles feel great. When you first put your foot into the shoe, you'll instantly notice the 'memory foam-like' feel. While we can't say for the long-term durability of these insoles, short-term they are awesome.
Snibbs shoes are extremely easy to slip-on and slip-off. It makes changing shoes very simple and easy to do even if you have other stuff in your hands.
While it might seem silly, at the end of a long shift, there's nothing better than being able to easily change your shoes.
Standing for long periods of time with our dual density insole and ergonomic durable midsole provides you with all-day comfort. The wide toe box offers space to stretch your toes, which allows your foot to swell without discomfort.
The shoe isn't bulky, and due to the adjustable width and comfortable features, you can move around in the shoes as easily as you can stand around.
